Director, Medicinal Chemistry

ClinicalPro is seeking a Director, Medicinal Chemistry for a leading Biotechnology organisation located in the USA. 

This individual will be responsible for developing and carrying out the overall chemistry plan. This will help the organisation to quickly advance molecules across several programmes in the CNS and endocrine therapeutic domains. The Director of Medicinal Chemistry will oversee and mentor the research workforce (internal and external). This will include efforts pertaining to medication development and discovery.

Must be eligible to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Project and portfolio management, including developing chemistry and programme strategies for chosen projects.
• Oversees a group of scientists.
• Plans cross-functional tasks for several drug discovery programmes.
• Promotes the creation and application of breakthrough technologies.
• Oversees a project’s patent and publishing strategy.
• Oversees the authoring of patents and scientific publications. presents research findings externally as necessary.
• Conducts chemistry research and interacts with others on drug discovery and development ideas and concepts. Provides medicinal chemistry knowledge to new target diligence and outside prospects.
• Anticipates future problems and offers answers in order.
• Constantly enhance the design, manufacturing, test, and analysis phases of the drug development process.
• Creates plans to assure the successful completion of scientific goals across many initiatives.

Skills and Requirements

• PhD in a suitable scientific field—chemistry is preferred.
• Ten years of technical and in-depth managerial experience, you can work in the pharmaceutical sector.
• Substantial actual knowledge of method transfer, both as the source site and the receiving site.
• Extensive knowledge in analysing data and reaching meaningful conclusions.
• MS/MA degree and 13+ years of the above equivalent experience.
• BS/BA degree and 15+ years of the above equivalent experience.
• Shown clinical expertise in chemistry research and scientific brilliance.
• Expertise that has been acknowledged, including publications of major contributions made throughout time to an area.
• Excellent work ethic overall and readiness to participate in laboratory research throughout therapeutic fields.
• To deal with both internal and external resources, one must possess excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of the drug discovery process in depth.
• Recognised as a significant organization’s internal thought leader with in-depth technical and commercial knowledge.
• Utilises in-depth knowledge of one’s own role.
• Knowledge in business, commercial, and scientific competence to creatively and successfully resolve pressing problems.
• Evaluates important commercial and scientific difficulties, and completes difficult, ambiguous projects with broad effects.
• Ability to deal with various organisational departments effectively.
• Effectively convey outcomes and strategies to employees and business leaders.
• Outstanding written and vocal communication skills, strong attention to detail.
