ClinicalPro is seeking a Director/VP of Business Development for a leading Life Sciences company located in the USA.
This individual will be responsible for expanding the company’s partner network, driving product directionality through efficient Voice of the Customer tactics, and handling co-sell possibilities with channel partners. The Director/VP of Business Development will report to the Chief Medical Officer.
Must be eligible to work in the US.
Responsibilities
- Deliver business expansion in the life sciences sector across North America.
- Encourage senior-level partners across organisations in the targeted market and sector to engage and form partnerships.
- Lead business development initiatives while serving as an internal point of contact for deliverables throughout the RFP and sales cycle.
- Give the sales operations team guidance so they can deliver top-notch bid, proposal, and presentation assistance acting as the project manager for a new customer relationship.
- Establish deadlines and offer prioritisation planning for the preparation of RFPs.
- Utilising tools and techniques, organise and assist sales project planning to manage risks, dependencies, and guarantee successful delivery within the specified timetable and budget.
- Establish goals for each sales project that is developed and make sure that they are followed, including getting internal partners’ approval and support. You may also give continuous assistance to guarantee effective delivery, risk reduction, and scope avoidance.
- Research your customers and potential clients, then assign the sales support team the proper amount of work.
Skills and Requirements
- Having at least 5 years of experience in a leadership position within the life science sector. In addition, to having an extensive understanding of clinical operations is required.
- Preferred proficiency with commercial life science operations.
- Experience with large, complex digital strategy & transformation programmes that deliver demonstrable business value, data-driven insight, improved operational efficiencies, and engagement; strategy consulting experience.
- A strong track record of successfully managing client relationships and overseeing several projects. Extensive expertise in delivery management, including managing teams at all project phases.
- Recognised by peers as a subject matter expert in relevant technology and/or business process sourcing challenges and as an industry expert by clients.
- Domain expertise in the Life Sciences industry with breadth and depth of knowledge and engagement leadership experience with an understanding of the company domain expertise and demonstrated experience creating solutions to address industry-specific processes.
- Experience with shared services, operational improvement, and strategy as they relate to digital transformation.
- Life science business development and sales expertise, including prospecting, lead qualifying, proposal preparation, sales calls, and sales support.
- Experience in team building and management, including hiring, relationship management, mentoring, and utilisation management.
- Exceptional presenting, verbal, and written communication abilities. Capacity to explain complicated concepts in plain-spoken business language to all levels of management, including senior executives.
- PhD or MS desired; MBA optional.
